Project statement

One problem, observed until it becomes knowledge.

This knitting study focused on a self-enclosed brim: a compact construction problem that required repeated testing rather than a single expressive gesture. I worked between hand and machine knitting to understand where each method offered control, efficiency, and a better finish. Every sample made the next decision more specific—how the edge turned, where bulk collected, and which sequence could be repeated reliably. The final object is modest in scale, but it represents an important part of my practice. I value studies that isolate one problem closely enough for technique to become transferable knowledge.
